Warangal, Telangana – The state government has introduced a new system called the Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights in Land) Act, 2025 to solve long-standing land record issues faced by farmers. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy explained that this digital system will make land documentation simple, transparent, and error-free.
Speaking at an awareness event in Warangal on Tuesday, Ponguleti said Bhu Bharati replaces the previous Dharani system, which had many problems. Many farmers suffered under Dharani, often needing to go to court for even small issues. The new system is designed to be smooth, fast, and trustworthy.
The government studied land laws from 18 different states and consulted experts before drafting this new model. Ponguleti emphasized that Bhu Bharati aims to be a permanent fix for land-related issues.
Initially, the government will launch the system in four mandals as a pilot project. Revenue officials will visit farmers directly to help them resolve their problems. This service will be completely free of cost, so farmers won’t need to worry about any fees.
The system will also address long-pending sada bainama (unregistered land agreements) cases, which have troubled many farmers for years. The government plans to hold awareness programs in all mandals by April 30 and a special seminar on June 2, marking Telangana Formation Day, in every mandal headquarters.
Other leaders, including Forest Minister Konda Surekha, Warangal Mayor Gundu Sudharani, and Wardhannapet MLA K R Nagaraju, praised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for launching a farmer-friendly system that improves how complaints are handled.
Key officials like Warangal District Collector Satya Sharada, Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Tanaji Wakade, and Additional Collector G Sandhya Rani also attended the event alongside local leaders and farmers.
In a touching moment during the program, Minister Ponguleti offered financial help to a girl named Liti, who earned admission to Class V in a top school but couldn’t afford to join. After hearing her grandmother’s request, he stepped in to support her education.
