Hanamkonda – Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari believes that if Rahul Gandhi is to become the next Prime Minister, the Congress Party must support leaders who work closely with people—not just those who stay near top leadership.
Speaking at a Congress planning meeting in Jangaon district, Srihari stressed the importance of building a strong party structure. The meeting was led by DCC president Kommuri Pratap Reddy and attended by leaders like MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, MLC Addanki Dayakar, and Lingam Yadav.
Srihari said success in politics depends on the ability to win people’s trust and votes, not on how long someone has been in the party. “What matters is your connection with the public and how effectively you work for them,” he said.
He urged party members to actively engage with people’s problems rather than working only for political gain. “Even those willing to spend a small amount—like ten rupees—for people’s welfare can go far in politics,” he added.
He also warned against internal criticism. “It’s harmful when party members attack their own leaders publicly or post negative comments on social media. That weakens the party,” Srihari said.
According to him, the Congress has growing support across India, and to maintain that trust, the party must promote genuine, committed leaders. “Leaders must stay visible and connected. If they show up once and disappear, people won’t trust them,” he said.
He gave a clear message for his own constituency. “In Station Ghanpur, we’ll ensure that only sincere Congress workers get opportunities, following the PCC guidelines,” he promised.
Srihari also talked about the State’s financial troubles, blaming former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for burdening the state with heavy debt. Despite this, he said the current Congress CM is working hard to fulfill promises made to the people.
He pointed out that the BRS and BJP are targeting the Congress government with strong criticism. “We must respond with unity and strength. Only then can we defeat the opposition,” Srihari said.
He ended his speech by calling on all party members to focus on strengthening the party and helping Rahul Gandhi become the Prime Minister.
The meeting saw the presence of many key leaders, including Marujodu Rambabu, chairman of the District Library Corporation, PCC general secretary Lakavath Danwanti, and various other PCC leaders, corporation chairpersons, and market committee heads from across the district.
