    Hyderabad: BJP MPs DK Aruna and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy emphasized the importance of respecting people’s opinions on land acquisition for the proposed Pharma City project.

    On Tuesday, both MPs addressed the recent clash between villagers and officials in Lagacharla village, which took place on Monday. Aruna expressed her disappointment, calling the incident unfortunate and saddening. She stressed that such events should not occur.

    The BJP MP explained that the government plans to acquire 1,500 acres of land in the first phase, with an additional 1,500 acres in the second phase, for the establishment of pharmaceutical companies. However, five villages, including Lagacharla, are strongly opposing the project.

    Aruna mentioned that she personally took part in a protest supporting the villagers. She highlighted that the residents have made it clear they do not want to give up their land, even if it means risking their lives.

    She also pointed out that the villagers are not against the pharmaceutical companies themselves. Instead, they are asking for the companies to be set up in a different location.
