Rangareddy is experiencing heavy rains for over a week, causing the government to remain on high alert to handle any emergencies that arise.
So far this month, the district has received a total of 153.2 mm of rain, bringing the overall rainfall to 448.8 mm, which is a 47.2% increase from normal. According to the Telangana Ground Water Department (TGGWD), 26 mandals have had more rain than usual, and only one received normal levels by Wednesday.
Yacharam saw the most rain in the last 24 hours with 30.0 mm, followed by Manchal with 23.1 mm, and Ibrahimpatnam with 21.2 mm. Madgul, Kandukur, Amangal, and Balapur also received significant rainfall. In contrast, Kandurg had just 1.2 mm, and other areas like Farooqnagar, Shamshabad, and Chowderguda received minimal rain.
Most mandals are experiencing moderate to heavy rain, pushing the total rainfall to 448.8 mm, compared to the usual monthly total of 304.9 mm. Officials in the district have been told to stay vigilant as many water bodies are filling up quickly, leading to waterlogging, damage to crops, and power outages in various locations.
