    Former Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy paid floral tributes to the statue of Suravaram Pratap Reddy on his 128th birth anniversary. Many leaders honored the Telugu literary legend from Palamuru region and remembered his contributions to social changes in Telangana.

    Singireddy Niranjan Reddy praised Pratap Reddy as a significant figure in Telangana’s political and social awakening. He highlighted Pratap Reddy’s roles as a writer, orator, social reformer, editor, and leading poet in the Palamuru region. Pratap Reddy’s legacy as a newspaper editor, researcher, scholar, and movement leader was unmatched. His dedication to documenting local history and struggles was evident in his writings. He also published “Golconda Kavula Sanchika,” a book featuring 354 poets with biographical details.

    Pratap Reddy was known for editing magazines like Golconda, Bharati Sahitya, and Prajavani. His notable works included “Social History of the Andhras,” “Festivals of Hindus,” “Hindu Dharma Veerulu,” and “Library Movement.” Singireddy highlighted Pratap Reddy’s efforts to promote Telugu language and culture, leading him to enter politics and get elected to the Hyderabad State Legislative Assembly.

    A statue of Suravaram Pratap Reddy stands on the Tank Bund in Hyderabad as a tribute to his service to the Telugu people. Singireddy mentioned his work on three compilations about Pratap Reddy’s legacy through SNR Publications, titled “Suravaram Telangana,” focusing on various aspects of society during and after Pratap Reddy’s era.
