Hyderabad: On Tuesday, a 100-day action plan began with a remarkable rally involving 36,900 citizens over 250 km. This event marks a significant move towards change.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is focusing on improving urban administration. He has instructed the Municipal Administration Department to launch this action plan. The plan aims to enhance urban governance, public health, environmental sustainability, and citizen involvement in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
Officials outline several key goals: improving solid waste management and sanitation, preparing for monsoon with better infrastructure, promoting community involvement through information campaigns, boosting urban greenery, and conducting a Bhuvan Survey. This survey will identify properties not fully assessed for taxes.
The rally’s launch showcased products from 280 self-help groups, earning Rs 3.94 lakh from sales across ULBs. Participants included local residents, public officials, bureaucrats, SHGs, and NGOs, all united under the mission of creating cleaner, healthier, and more resilient urban areas.
Proposed activities in ULBs include media campaigns, door-to-door outreach, clearing storm drains, and promoting waste segregation and composting. Efforts also focus on updating water connections, improving water quality, and controlling mosquitoes with chlorination and natural methods. Tree planting events, junction and park developments, staff training, and cultural and art initiatives are also planned.
The plan is a strategic move towards sustainable urban development in Telangana. It combines infrastructure, innovation, and community involvement, reinforcing a commitment to a people-first approach in urban growth.
