Hyderabad: As the Jubilee Hills byelection campaign heats up, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is gearing up to strengthen the Congress party’s position. He plans to speak at a large public gathering and participate in road shows across six areas in the constituency.

The Congress is treating this byelection as a matter of pride, aiming to win the seat from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). As part of their strategy, they have arranged a campaign schedule for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Sources say that the Chief Minister will address a major public meeting on October 28 at the Police Grounds. The party aims to attract voters by involving film personalities, appealing to the constituency’s significant number of film industry workers, including junior artists and lesser-known actors.

On October 30 and 31, the Chief Minister will hold road shows in two divisions. After a brief pause, he will continue with more road shows on November 4 and 5 in the remaining three divisions.

Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and corporation chairmen are already actively campaigning. The Congress leaders are optimistic about winning, believing that Revanth Reddy’s involvement will be a significant advantage.

Revanth is expected to criticize former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao while focusing on the government’s plans to improve the city.

This byelection carries significant weight as the ruling party aims to maintain its winning streak. The Congress had previously won the Secunderabad Cantonment byelection, where Sri Ganesh defeated the BRS candidate Nivedita. A victory here would reinforce the message that the party’s success in the Assembly elections was not just luck, showing continued public support.

Meanwhile, the BRS aims to keep Maganti Gopinath’s seat, asserting that the public still trusts BRS governance.

The byelection is scheduled for November 11. Although three major parties—Congress, BRS, and BJP—are competing, the primary contest is between Congress and BRS.
