Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has given all Congress MLAs a clear message—change your way of working or face the consequences. He has set a strict deadline of six months for them to improve their performance in their constituencies.

Despite the launch of over a dozen major government schemes, public dissatisfaction with most MLAs is rising. The Chief Minister is unhappy with what he sees as a lack of energy and poor public outreach from his party’s elected leaders.

To turn things around, Revanth Reddy has instructed MLAs to connect directly with the public. They must explain how schemes like Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, free RTC bus travel for women, Indiramma housing, Rajiv Yuva Vikas Yojana, and fine rice distribution through PDS are being implemented in their areas. He wants them to hold village-level meetings and interact with people from all communities.

Each MLA must submit a development report by December 7, which marks two years of Congress rule in Telangana. The goal is to show visible progress and boost the party’s image across the state.

Recently, the Chief Minister met with MLAs from the old Mahbubnagar district. He asked tough questions about why many welfare programs are delayed and why legislators are not staying connected with the people. More such one-on-one meetings with MLAs from other districts are also planned.

The government has already released development funds for each constituency. It is now up to the MLAs to ensure that these funds are used efficiently and projects are completed. The State Planning Department is tracking the progress and preparing status reports.

According to senior Congress leaders, Revanth Reddy aims to create a positive wave for the party ahead of its second anniversary celebration on December 7. He believes strong performance at the local level will help the Congress party strengthen its support across Telangana.
