Hyderabad: Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao expressed concern about the missing 62,473 metric tons of urea. He instructed RFCL and NFCL to deliver the full amount promptly. The minister emphasized the need for immediate fertilizer distribution to avoid disrupting farming activities in the state.
On Saturday, he met with RFCL CEO Alok Singhal and NFCL Telangana Sales Manager Rajesh at the Secretariat. They discussed the delay in urea supply to the state.
The minister pushed for a quick delivery process, suggesting that half of the pending quota should be sent within the week.
He updated on current stocks, revealing that 42,000 metric tons of urea are available in the state, with an extra 6,543 metric tons arriving today.
Additionally, 37,877 metric tons are set to be delivered gradually by the end of the month.
Minister Tummala reassured farmers, highlighting ongoing efforts to monitor the supply chain. He urged them not to worry, affirming the government’s dedication to providing essential agricultural inputs without interruption.
