Concerns Raised Over Incomplete Caste Survey in Hyderabad

In Hyderabad, a recent government report on the Socio-Economic, Educational, Employment, Political, and Caste (SEEEPC) survey has sparked concerns. Many households across the State were reportedly left out of the survey, raising questions about its accuracy and inclusiveness.

Mohd Abdul Akram, an RTI activist from Hyderabad, highlighted the issue. He shared that residents from areas such as Moghalpura, Sultan Shahi, and other parts of the city reported that survey teams either skipped their homes or failed to collect any details during their visits.

“This has become a significant concern,” Akram said. “Many people are frustrated because they were completely unaware of the survey process, and no officials ever came to collect data from them.” He noted that the survey is essential to understand the socio-economic status of different communities, which can guide policymaking and welfare programs.

However, he warned that excluding large portions of the population would result in an inaccurate representation of Telangana’s demographics. This could undermine the purpose of the survey and affect efforts to address the needs of all communities effectively.
