The Lok Sabha has passed the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2023. This bill allows for the establishment of the SammaaSarakka Central Tribal University in Mulugu district, Telangana. The Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, explained that the university will promote tribal arts, culture, and modern education for people in tribal areas.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed their support for the bill. They believe that the tribal university will improve access to higher education in Telangana and provide necessary facilities for teaching and research on tribal arts, culture, and traditions. This will greatly benefit the tribals of the state.
