The Telangana state government is working on providing clean drinking water to rural and urban areas through schemes like Mission Bhageeratha. This program aims to bring piped drinking water to every household in the state. Water is sourced from rivers and treated before distribution, with a focus on rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge in rural areas.

In Sankapuram, residents are facing a serious drinking water problem due to a broken bore motor that supplies water to the village. The main sources of water are the Mission Bhageeratha system and a bore well near Uttanoor village. After the village sarpanch’s term ended, there has been neglect of the water system, leading some villagers to collect donations for bore motor repairs.
