Former MP J Santosh from BRS defended himself against accusations of land forgery, claiming he acquired the land legally. He expressed readiness to face legal consequences and warned of legal action against those making baseless accusations.
The BRS leader addressed a case filed against him at Banjara Hills police station, alleging land encroachment with forged documents. Santosh clarified that he legally purchased 904 square yards of land in Shaikpet mandal in 2016 and paid over Rs 3.81 crore for it through a registered sale deed.
No construction was done on the purchased land, and Santosh emphasized that if there were any legal issues, a formal notice should have been sent to him first. He criticized the direct police complaint without prior communication or legal process.
Santosh stressed that the case seemed politically motivated, with misinformation about the size of the disputed land. He maintained his innocence and welcomed any investigation into the land he bought with his own funds.
The BRS leader vowed to take legal action against those spreading false accusations and attempting to damage his reputation. He questioned the sudden resurgence of a 32-year-old controversy and vowed to defend himself and his party against any malicious attacks.
