Hyderabad is set to embrace green energy as the State Secretariat plans to switch to solar power soon.
Solar panel-covered sheds will be constructed at the Secretariat. These will also serve as shaded parking areas, especially useful during the hot summer months. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy proposed this initiative to alleviate the heat-related challenges faced by the Secretariat staff and visiting VIPs.
During a high-level meeting with the Energy department, the CM directed officials to design a solar rooftop suitable for vehicle parking. The State Roads and Buildings and Energy departments have been tasked with developing these solar roof sheds.
Additionally, the CM suggested installing solar fencing around the Secretariat to improve power supply security.
