Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi assured the people of Telangana that the Congress government in the state will keep its promises. She greeted the people on Telangana’s Formation Day and wished for the state’s rapid development and bright future.
Sonia Gandhi’s video message was played at the main official ceremony marking the 10th Telangana formation day at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad. Although she was invited to the celebration, she could not attend due to health reasons. She stated that the people of Telangana entrusted the Congress with the responsibility of building a prosperous and developed state, and she sees it as her duty to fulfill those dreams.
Sonia Gandhi promised that the Telangana Congress government, led by Revanth Reddy, will work tirelessly to fulfill its guarantees. She also paid tribute to the martyrs of Telangana who sacrificed their lives for the formation of the state. In 2004, she had promised in Karimnagar that Congress would fulfill the dreams of the people of Telangana, despite facing dissidence within the party.
