On the first day of the Intermediate Public Examination, many students and parents were outside exam centers in Hyderabad. Some students at private colleges in Mehdipatnam and Tarnaka reported issues like dim lighting and no water facilities.

The exams started as scheduled in 1,521 centers across Telangana, with 4,88,133 students taking the first-year exams. There were 19,641 absentees on the first day, making a 3.86% absentee rate. The exams went smoothly, except for three malpractice cases in Nizamabad, Janagon, and Karimnagar.

Students could only enter if they were one minute late, leading to confusion for some. Parents mentioned problems with finding exam centers due to similar names. Some students complained about inadequate facilities at certain private colleges.
