In a major drug bust, the Prohibition and Excise Department arrested two people at Hyderabad’s Kacheguda railway station. The suspects include a software engineer and a real estate firm manager. They were found with high-quality illegal drugs, including the banned OG Kush strain.
Excise Enforcement Joint Commissioner Syed Yasin Qureshi shared the details during a press conference on Wednesday. The arrests were made after an operation led by Sub-Inspector Sandhya. During the operation, officers stopped a car and a motorcycle near the station.
When they checked the vehicles, the officials found a large amount of drugs being exchanged. The seized items included 500 grams of OG Kush, one kilogram of ganja, six grams of charas, 4.38 grams of synthetic hash, and five bottles of imported liquor. The total value of the seized items is over ₹40 lakh.
The arrested individuals were identified as Pratheesh Bhat, who works as a manager in a real estate company, and Jaisurya, who is a software professional. Officials said the drugs were brought in from the neighboring state of Karnataka.
Authorities are still investigating the case to find out if a larger drug network is involved.
