The Telangana government decided on Saturday, February 28, to reverse its earlier plan to give 3.95 acres of land in the Kokapet Neopolis area to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). The land will remain with Sharada Peetham.
Earlier, the HMWSSB announced that it had received the land to build infrastructure to support the growing demand for drinking water in the Kokapet-Neopolis region.
Later, the Chief Minister’s Office released a statement. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was unhappy because they had not informed him about the ongoing constructions by the Peetham before giving the land to the Water Board. He then ordered the cancellation of the land allocation to HMWSSB.
The Chief Minister learned from Peetham representatives about their construction projects. He met with senior officials at the State Secretariat to discuss the status of these projects. Following this, he decided that the land should remain under the Peetham’s control.
He also suggested that Peetham representatives meet with Minister Sridhar Babu to explain their construction activities and other related matters.
