Gadwal celebrated Telangana People’s Governance Day in a grand manner at the Integrated District Offices Complex on Wednesday. A.P. Jitender Reddy, Special Representative & Advisor for Sports Affairs, was the chief guest. He received a ceremonial police guard of honor and was warmly welcomed by the district administration. Jitender Reddy paid respects by placing flowers on portraits of Telangana Thalli, freedom fighters, and Telangana martyrs before raising the national flag.
Jitender Reddy spoke about the state government’s commitment, led by the Chief Minister, to observe September 17 as People’s Governance Day. He highlighted that the government began delivering on its promises within just 48 hours of taking charge.
He pointed out significant welfare measures, mentioning that the distribution of ration cards resumed on July 14, 2024, after ten years. This action restored food security for many families. Starting from the Ugadi festival, 1,81,352 ration card holders in the district received free fine rice, with a total of 4,058 metric tonnes distributed this year.
The government ensured swift procurement of farmers’ produce, with payments made within 48 hours. During the Yasangi 2024–25 season, the district purchased 95,378 metric tonnes of paddy from 14,987 farmers through 75 centers, paying ₹221.27 crore. A bonus of ₹500 per quintal for fine paddy, totaling ₹44.34 crore, was also given.
Under the Gruhajyothi scheme, 9,96,562 households received free power subsidies worth ₹25.93 crore. The Mahalakshmi Scheme offered 95,434 families gas cylinders at ₹500, with an ₹8.02 crore subsidy. The Rythu Loan Waiver cleared farm loans worth ₹513.99 crore for 58,113 farmers. The Indiramma Rythu Bharosa scheme credited ₹268.84 crore to 1,69,299 farmers’ accounts at ₹12,000 per acre for the current Kharif season.
Women in the district benefited from free RTC bus travel, with 3.78 crore trips saving them nearly ₹82.47 crore. Free electricity was provided to support 59,505 agricultural pump sets, with an annual subsidy of ₹42.80 crore.
Housing projects progressed rapidly with 3,500 Indiramma houses allocated per constituency in the first phase. So far, 6,768 houses were approved in the district, with 1,446 units under construction costing ₹14.46 crore, and 687 double-bedroom houses completed and distributed, worth ₹42 crore.
The government invested ₹16,521 crore in healthcare since taking office. In the district, projects valued at ₹101.20 crore are underway on a 34-acre campus, including a medical college, nursing college, and critical care units. The medical college and central medicine store are already functioning.
For irrigation, 2.61 lakh acres in the district are receiving water, with a focus on completing pending projects to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Jitender Reddy introduced the vision document “Telangana Rising – 2047,” which aims for a $1 trillion economy by 2035 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047, aiming to position Telangana prominently on the global stage.
The event included vibrant cultural performances by students of Bal Bhavan, Natya Mayuri Dance Training Centre, and government schools. The Chief Guest distributed mementos to students and teachers.

Santosh, District SP Srinivasa Rao, Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, Alampur MLA Vijayudu, Additional Collectors Lakshmi Narayana and Narsinga Rao, District Library Chairman Neeli Srinivasulu, Gadwal Market Yard Chairman Nalla Hanumantu, Alampur Market Yard Chairman Dodappa, RDO Alivelu, AO Bhupal Reddy, officials from various departments, public representatives, and students attended the celebration.
