As temperatures rise, many people in urban areas are turning to swimming to cool off. Some are visiting swimming pools, while others are going to water parks. In Hyderabad, where temperatures reached 40°C on Wednesday, people of all ages are seeking solace in these aquatic amenities. Many young people are flocking to swimming pools outside the city, as there are only a few within its limits. Even the over 12 GHMC swimming pools have seen a significant increase in participants.

Residents like Mohammed Majid Ali from Barkas say that swimming is their only respite this season. Prashant, a teen from Kukatpally, and his friends use their pocket money to pay for entrance fees to go swimming every alternate day to beat the heat. GHMC officials report that children between the ages of 6 to 12 years old are showing the most demand for swimming.

Water parks have also seen an increase in visitors, with families gathering to enjoy the amenities.

Trainers at Al Nahdi swimming pool in Old City have started swimming training for children and have implemented strict safety protocols, including lifeguards and increased cleaning and disinfecting. Asra Imran at Jalvihar water park said that swimming is a popular pastime during the summer months, especially when temperatures are high.
