Hyderabad: The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has taken legal action against 14 people who were pretending to be doctors. Out of these, 12 were caught in Hyderabad, and the other two were found in Achampet and Nagarkurnool. Officials said that these fake doctors were putting people’s health at serious risk.

The issue of fake doctors, often known as RMPs and PMPs, continues to be a problem in Telangana. Even though more than 400 cases have already been filed, many still keep practicing medicine without proper qualifications. Over the past two months, TGMC officials carried out inspections in Hyderabad and the Nagarkurnool-Achampet areas. As a result, they filed new cases under laws such as the NMC Act 34 and 54, and the TSMPR Act 22.

TGMC Chairman Dr. Mahesh Kumar said that their strict approach will not change. Vice Chairman Dr. G Srinivas explained that many of these fake doctors act like they are real MBBS doctors even though they don’t have medical degrees. He added that they often give strong medicines like antibiotics, steroids, and painkiller injections without any proper reason, which can be very dangerous for patients.

The TGMC made it clear that anyone practicing medicine without the right qualifications will face legal action. They also said they will fully enforce the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act across the state to protect public health.
