Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have introduced a new online system for getting loudspeaker licences. This new method replaces the old manual process.

The change comes after many people complained about noise pollution and safety concerns during religious festivals, which often draw large crowds and loud celebrations.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty announced that, from now on, all applications for using or supplying loudspeakers must be submitted online. These applications will follow the rules set under the Hyderabad City Loudspeakers Rules of 1963.

Previously, the Hyderabad police had set strict limits on how loud sound systems can be. Anyone who breaks these rules could face fines or even jail time. These rules apply to all religious processions in the city.
