Hyderabad: A video about digital fraud, shared by senior IPS officer and Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Managing Director VC Sajjanar, caught the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 115th Mann Ki Baat on Sunday.
In his address, the Prime Minister spoke about digital frauds and emphasized that there is no such thing as “digital arrest” in the law. He explained that criminals are using this tactic to deceive people. The PM shared a story of a person who outsmarted these cybercriminals by not falling into their trap.
VC Sajjanar had originally posted the video on September 19, showing a smart conversation between a man named Santosh Patil from Vijayapur, Karnataka, and fake police officers. The video was intended to raise awareness about cybercrimes and digital frauds. After the Prime Minister mentioned the same topic and video in Mann Ki Baat, Sajjanar expressed his gratitude on social media.
Sajjanar thanked PM Modi for highlighting the issue again and for bringing attention to the growing problem of cyber fraud. He wrote, “Thank you, Hon’ble Prime Minister, for sharing the video again and personally shedding light on this critical issue.”
Sajjanar also reminded people to act quickly if they encounter such frauds. He urged individuals to dial 1930 for help if they are contacted by cybercriminals, and encouraged everyone to work together to make India digitally safer.
