A bridge that was still being built over the Ganga river in Bihar, India, collapsed on Sunday. Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said the state administration was already planning to demolish the bridge due to structural issues and potential financial losses. No casualties have been reported, but some employees are missing. A section of the same bridge collapsed in April 2022, and a study by IIT-Roorkee revealed severe flaws. The investigation into Sunday’s collapse has been ordered by the chief minister of Bihar. The bridge project was estimated to cost Rs 1,710 crore and was awarded to a Haryana-based business. The opening was anticipated for December.
