Hyderabad saw a large number of worshippers as many gathered at various Naga Amma temples in both Hyderabad and Secunderabad for Naga Panchami, a Hindu festival honoring snake gods.
In the early hours, devotees lined up at temples like the Naga Amma Temple in Lalbazar, Tirumalagiri, Seetharam Bagh, and Dattatreya Pahad. Families brought offerings such as milk, turmeric, kumkum, sweets, and flowers. Temples resounded with chants and bell sounds as women conducted special Naga pooja for their family’s well-being.
At Clock Tower in Secunderabad, the Naga Amma Temple saw a growing crowd all day. Devotees from the area and beyond took part, some even crawling around the deity in respect. The Dilsukhnagar Naga Amma Temple was adorned with flowers and lamps. Priests performed rituals with milk and honey, while people chanted mantras. Nearby stalls offered pooja necessities.
In Begumpet, both young and old gathered at the Naga Amma Temple. Many tied turmeric-soaked threads around anthills and trees, a ritual for protection and wish fulfillment.
The Naga Devatha Temple in Tarnaka also attracted many. Devotees prayed under trees with serpent idols. Women fasted and prayed for marital happiness, family prosperity, and health.
Local police managed traffic and ensured smooth visits around the temple areas. Despite the large number of people, the devotion remained serene. Naga Panchami highlights ancient traditions and beliefs, with temples becoming centers of spiritual activity on this special day.
