The Hyderabad city police commissioner K Sreenivasa Reddy stated that the police are investigating a case involving a morphed video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Five people have been arrested, and a total of 27 cases have been registered after receiving a complaint about the fake video being circulated on social media.
The arrested individuals were released on conditional bail, and the police confiscated their mobile phones and laptops. If more names surface during the investigation, further probes and legal actions will be taken. Commissioner Reddy also mentioned that the role of the Delhi police in this investigation could cause confusion, and they will share information if needed.
Regarding the phone tapping case, Commissioner Reddy confirmed that it is currently under investigation. The police are planning to issue a red corner notice to T Prabhakar Rao, the former chief of the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB), and legal procedures are being followed. Legal actions will be taken against all parties involved in the case.
