Bhadrachalam is known as the Ayodhya of the South. The temple’s development faced delays due to land issues. Now, the local residents around the temple’s Madaveedhu have agreed to the expansion, and funding has been secured. Tummala Nageswara Rao, the Minister of Agriculture, confirmed this progress.
On Monday, he reviewed the expansion work at the Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy Temple. He praised the revenue administration for convincing long-time residents to support the temple’s development.
Telangana ministers from Khammam district, including Bhatti Vikramarka and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, worked together to secure funds. The Chief Minister quickly released Rs. 33 crore as the first installment for this project. Only four families required additional funds, which have now been provided, allowing the expansion process to finish. The file was then presented to the CM.
Work on the temple will follow guidelines from the Agama Pandits of the Endowments department. The District Collector, ITDA PO, RDO, and Tahsildar played key roles in persuading families to support the Madaveedhu expansion and thanked them for their cooperation.
The residents requested housing solutions to avoid displacement, and plans for a shopping complex are underway to support their livelihoods. The minister pledged to assist in constructing this complex, ensuring a stable future for families who supported the temple’s development.
