Hyderabad: Two Bangladeshi men who had illegally entered India were arrested by the Hyderabad city police on Wednesday. They had crossed into India through the Dunki route from Benapole district in Bangladesh, entered Bongaon district in West Bengal, and eventually made their way to Hyderabad.
The two men, identified as Mohammad Hasibul (25) and Rohan Saha (21), both from Dhaka, were living in Saleem Nagar Colony, Malakpet using fake documents. Hasibul also went by the name Jovan Chowdhury. They were caught by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone team, along with Malakpet police.
Police also arrested four Indian agents who helped the Bangladeshi nationals create fake documents. These agents were identified as Mohd Muqeed, Temura Sai Kiran, Gaddameedi Rajnikant, and Duddu Sudheer Kumar. They were involved in making false birth certificates and other fake identification papers.
Hasibul had a Bangladeshi passport and entered India four years ago by paying traffickers Rs 25,000. After reaching Kolkata, he lived in South Howrah and worked as a karate trainer. He managed to get a fake Aadhaar card by changing his name to Jovan Chowdhury.
In December 2023, Hasibul met a woman named Jaya Chowdary from Malakpet on Facebook. He hid his true identity and married her. After the marriage, he moved to Malakpet, where he started an online garment business and also worked as a food delivery agent.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) YVS Sudheendra, Hasibul, with help from local agent Mohd Muqeed and others, managed to get a fake birth certificate from Narsingi Municipality. The certificate falsely stated that he was born in Ranga Reddy district. Sudheer, an outsourcing computer operator at the municipality, helped in creating the fake certificate.
With this fake birth certificate, Hasibul applied for an Indian Voter ID and Aadhaar card to make it seem like he was an Indian citizen. Later, he also brought his friend Rohan Saha and his pregnant wife to Malakpet. They entered India without any valid documents, and Hasibul arranged fake Aadhaar cards for them too.
Based on this information, the police arrested the two Bangladeshi nationals along with the four Indian agents involved in the forgery.
