The police began their investigation after receiving a complaint from the State Secretary of the Congress Social Media Cell in Hyderabad. They found an abusive video circulating on the X profile @NippuKodi. The video featured a Pulse TV journalist interviewing an unidentified person in a provocative manner. During the interview, the individual made derogatory and abusive remarks against CM Revanth Reddy, suggesting an intentional attempt to spread false propaganda.
