The monsoon session in Hyderabad is coming to an end, but there is still no indication if the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (Absorption of Employees into Government Service) Bill 2023 will be passed during the session. The session is scheduled to adjourn on Sunday.

The Governor, Tamilisai Soundararajan, has raised doubts and requested clarifications from the government regarding the bill. The government has provided clarifications, but the Governor is not yet convinced. She has asked for more details about depot-wise liabilities, assets, and staff, as well as the fate of contract workers and the assets of the corporation that Andhra Pradesh has claimed.

The Governor will review the draft bill after receiving replies from the government. The government is preparing another detailed note to address the doubts raised by the Governor, which is expected to be delivered by Sunday morning.

The Governor initially raised five points of concern, including the equity contributions of the State and Central Government to the APSRTC in the past, and the vague statement on objects and reasons in the proposed bill. However, officials claim that the TSRTC will continue to function in its existing legal entity and form after the absorption of its employees into the government.
