US Motorcycle Rally Shootout Leaves Three Dead and Five Injured

A shooting happened at a biker rally in Red River, New Mexico. The shooting occurred around 5 pm while 20,000 bikers participated in the annual Memorial Day motorcycle rally. Three people were killed and five others were injured. Red River Mayor Linda Calhoun confirmed the deaths and injuries and said that an unspecified number of suspects had been arrested. The shooters have all been apprehended. The incident was gang-related, but the mayor did not divulge which gangs were involved.

One law enforcement officer referred to the incident over central dispatch as a rolling shootout between Banditos Motorcycle Club and someone else. A witness described chaos breaking out in the huge crowd. The shooting prompted the mayor of Taos to put a curfew in place between 10 pm and 4 am and to ban alcohol sales.
