    Congress Government Achievements Highlighted by Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy

    The Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, reviewed the Congress government’s accomplishments during its first year in Telangana. Speaking on Monday in Suryapet, he called the year “historic,” emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and efficient governance.

    After inaugurating several developmental projects in the Kodad constituency, the minister detailed key initiatives. He mentioned efforts like reclaiming lakes from encroachments after 40 years and starting the rejuvenation of the Musi River, which had been neglected for over five decades. These environmental restoration projects, according to him, underscore the government’s focus on sustainability.

    The minister also highlighted significant infrastructure projects launched during the year. These included the Regional Ring Road and the expansion of the Metro Rail. Additionally, the housing scheme, “Indiramma Illu,” resulted in the sanctioning of 4,00,000 housing units within the year.

    Development Projects in Kodad

    In Kodad, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy laid foundation stones for multiple road works and other initiatives worth several crores. One major project was a 7.5 km road connecting Akupamula to Ratnavaram, built at a cost of Rs 16 crore. This road is expected to benefit villages like Akupamula, Kodandarama Puram, Tellaballi, and Ratnavaram.

    Another significant road project involves a 3.3 km stretch from Kodad town’s lorry office to Komarabanda, costing Rs 18 crore. It aims to ease increasing traffic congestion in Kodad. The minister also laid the foundation for a new R&B Guest House in Kodad, to be built on 22 guntas of land for Rs 8 crore.

    In Ananthagiri, a 10.3 km road connecting Chanupalli to Ananthagiri is planned at a budget of Rs 20 crore. This road will improve connectivity for villages such as Ananthagiri, Polaram, Polaram Thanda, and Chanupalli.

    Skill Development Center at Akupamula

    In addition to road projects, the minister launched the works for a new skill development center at Akupamula. The center will be built on 1.05 acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore. It is aimed at fostering vocational training and creating employment opportunities for the local youth.

    These projects collectively reflect the government’s focus on infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, and employment generation, marking a productive first year in Telangana.
