Film actress and former MP Vijayashanti has responded to criticism about her party switch from BJP to Congress. She defended her decision by saying that the BJP leaders themselves ignored corruption allegations against BRS. She also mentioned that she was convinced by BJP leaders like Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy to join their party.

Vijayashanti criticized the BJP leaders for resigning when it was revealed that they had an understanding with BRS. She questioned why the central leaders promised action against BRS but failed to follow through. She left the Congress and joined the BJP with the goal of removing the current regime in Telangana, which she believed was corrupt. However, she felt betrayed when the BJP leaders did not fulfill their promises.
