Gadwal: In Pedda Dhanwada village, located in Rajoli Mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district, tensions rose sharply when farmers protested against building an ethanol factory. The protest quickly turned violent, leading to damage to private properties.
The police reported that protestors set fire to various items at the construction site. These included a container home, a Bolero vehicle, and several temporary tents. This act was deemed a serious legal violation, with farmers accused of taking the law into their own hands.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mogulayya addressed the incident, stressing that arson and illegal actions are crimes. He stated, “The law will deal with anyone who acts outside its boundaries. No one is exempt from the law.”
He clarified that the ethanol factory had acquired all necessary legal permissions and adhered to government regulations. “Blocking a legally sanctioned industrial project is a criminal offense,” added DSP Mogulayya. He warned of strict legal actions against those responsible for violence and property damage.
The police acted swiftly in response to the unrest. Under the guidance of DSP Mogulayya, 50 police officers, including 10 Sub-Inspectors and 3 Circle Inspectors, were deployed to control the situation and avoid further chaos.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing. Those found to have incited or participated in the violence will face legal charges.
