Adilabad: In a recent incident in a village under Ichoda Mandal, several people from other states used fake Aadhaar cards to pretend they lived there. They then used these false documents to get jobs in the Indian Army. Just as this was becoming known, another issue arose involving voter ID cards being moved without the real voters knowing.
Three people, along with local Revenue Inspector Hussain, were arrested and detained two days ago. Now, reports suggest that Tahsildar Satyanarayana Rao is also involved, with his name appearing in the FIR.
The Tahsildar has been missing for two days, leading to speculation about whether he is on leave or hiding due to his alleged role. The issue came to light when former Sarpanch Kadam Vanitha and her husband Kadam Subhash found their votes moved from polling booth 140 to booth 137 in Ichchoda without their consent. Subhash filed a complaint with the District Collector on August 20.
The Collector responded by ordering an investigation and asked Tahsildar Satyanarayana Rao to report on the matter. Following instructions, the Tahsildar restored the couple’s votes to booth 140 using his credentials. As news of the issue spread, the Collector called for a more thorough investigation.
On August 25, the Tahsildar lodged a complaint at the local police station, accusing Gosukula Nithin and Kadam Vishal of using fake documents to alter voter records, and asked for legal action against them.
Police acted quickly, arresting those involved and questioning them. RI Hussain was arrested on Wednesday. Sources indicate that Tahsildar Satyanarayana Rao was also implicated the same day, though police have not officially confirmed his involvement in public statements.
Since Thursday, the Tahsildar has been missing, causing speculation within the department. Ichoda CI Bandari Raju mentioned that the investigation into the voter ID fraud is ongoing, and more details about the Tahsildar’s involvement will be revealed soon.
