Wanaparthy district officials have discovered that some local first-aid centers in Pebbair and Srirangapur mandals are violating medical rules. These centers, run by Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) and Private Medical Practitioners (PMPs), are offering treatments far beyond their legal limits.

By law, RMPs and PMPs are only allowed to give basic first-aid. They are not authorized to perform procedures or prescribe medications like qualified MBBS doctors. But recent inspections show that many are ignoring these restrictions and treating patients as if they hold full medical degrees.

District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Srinivasulu had earlier organized awareness programs. He clearly warned these practitioners to stick to first-aid services only. Despite these efforts, violations have continued.

Following the DMHO’s directive, a team carried out surprise inspections. As a result, officials shut down two unauthorized centers that were offering full-scale treatments illegally.

The inspection team included DEMO Ravikumar, MPHEO Ashok, MPHO Narsing Rao, and KM Madhukar. They confirmed that the seized centers were operating outside their permitted scope.

Authorities are expected to take further action to stop this unsafe practice and ensure that only licensed professionals provide advanced medical care.
