Gautam Gambhir, mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023, was involved in a heated argument with Virat Kohli after their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Ekana Stadium. A video later emerged showing Gambhir giving a death stare to a fan who chanted ‘Kohli, Kohli’ as he walked towards the dressing room. Kohli was also involved in an altercation with LSG’s Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq. All three were penalised by the Indian Premier League for breaching code of conduct rules. Gambhir was fined 100% of his match fee, Kohli was fined 100% of his match fee, and Naveen-ul-Haq was fined 50% of his match fee.
The incident has added to the list of Indian Premier League controversies.
