David Warner, the captain of Delhi Capitals, touched the feet of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a pacer for Sunrisers Hyderabad before their IPL 2023 match on Monday. They had previously shared the same dressing room for a few years at Sunrisers Hyderabad. This heartwarming moment was caught on camera and went viral on social media. Warner was a member of Sunrisers Hyderabad from 2014 to 2021 and led them to their only title in 2016.

In the match, Washington Sundar’s all-round effort was not enough as Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Delhi Capitals by seven runs. Sundar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar restricted Delhi Capitals’ batting to 144/9 after David Warner chose to bat first. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad struggled during their chase and were only able to score 137/6. Despite a recovery by Heinrich Klaasen and Sundar, it was not enough as Anrich Nortje dismissed Klaasen and Mukesh Kumar bowled an excellent last over to defend 13 runs. Delhi Capitals won their second consecutive game of the season but remained at the bottom of the table with four points.
