Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department predicts heavy rain in 10 districts soon. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has alerted the state’s administration.
Rainfall, ranging from moderate to heavy, is expected in Nizamabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Vikarabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam. On Saturday, the Chief Minister assessed the flood conditions and relief efforts in these areas.
Officials must prepare National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force teams. They will work with district Collectors to assist affected communities.
Families in low-lying regions will be moved to safety. Authorities will monitor water levels in reservoirs and streams. The Irrigation Department will coordinate with Collectors for floodwater management.
Sandbags will be ready to manage potential floods near overflowing reservoirs. Police and revenue officials will block traffic on risky roads and bridges near full water bodies.
To prevent diseases from stagnant water, the Chief Minister instructed municipal and village officials to improve sanitation, especially in mosquito-prone areas.
