    Gadwal: On April 25, the Jogulamba Gadwal District Medical and Health Department held an awareness rally to mark World Malaria Day. The goal was to educate the public about mosquito-borne diseases and promote better health practices. Dr. S.K. Siddappa, the District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO), launched the rally as the chief guest. The event was led by Program Officer Dr. G. Raju.

    The rally began at the old DM&HO office and went up to the old bus stand. Participants marched while chanting slogans and sharing messages about malaria and other diseases spread by mosquitoes. Many people took part, including health department employees, Urban Health Center staff, ASHA workers, and health supervisors.

    During the event, Dr. S.K. Siddappa spoke about the importance of community involvement in stopping the spread of these illnesses. He said mosquitoes are a major threat to public health, as they carry diseases like malaria, filariasis, chikungunya, dengue, and encephalitis. He encouraged people to keep their homes and surroundings clean to prevent mosquito breeding.

    The rally highlighted the need for continued efforts to fight malaria. Health workers pledged to keep educating the public and work together toward a future without malaria.
