Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada. He presented silk robes to the presiding deity Goddess Kanaka Durga on Friday. The Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by the temple priests and Vedic scholars. He wore a traditional turban called pariveshtitham and carried the silk robes on a silver plate as he entered the sanctum sanctorum. YS Jagan offered special prayers to the presiding deity in the form of Goddess Saraswati. Afterward, the temple priests blessed him by reciting Vedic hymns. The Endowments Minister and other members of the legislative assembly also accompanied the Chief Minister during his visit.
