In Hyderabad, a group of Zomato delivery workers gathered in Uppal on August 5 to voice their concerns. They reported earning less than ₹500 despite working long hours, sometimes up to 14 hours a day.
The workers highlighted the lack of insurance coverage. If they have accidents while on delivery, they must cover medical expenses themselves.
Some workers have been with Zomato for 5 to 6 years, delivering in all weather conditions. They requested that the additional delivery fees charged during rainy days be given to them.
The workers mentioned feeling threatened by the company with potential police actions if they protest again. They believe their compensation does not match their effort.
With the challenges of navigating Hyderabad’s traffic and pollution, their job is demanding. They urge Zomato to address their issues and make necessary changes.
