In Rangareddy district, the Road Transport Authorities are conducting vehicle checks to enforce road safety rules. On the third day of inspections, 34 school buses were found to be lacking proper documents to operate on the roads.

Joint Deputy Transport Commissioner M.ChandraShekharGoud reported that during the checks, 34 buses were identified as unfit and tax defaulters. Teams of RTA authorities were deployed to various locations in the district to carry out these inspections.

Many buses hired by schools were found to be older than 15 years and unfit for service. This raised concerns about the safety of school children being transported in these vehicles. The RTA raids aimed to address this issue and prevent potential traffic chaos and risks to students’ lives.

Any unfit buses in violation of this rule would be seized, and action would be taken against the owners. Operators were also advised to hire experienced drivers under 60 years of age for added safety.

RTA teams from Rangareddy, Medchal, and Uppal sections collaborated in conducting these inspections to ensure compliance with road safety regulations.
