In Vemulawada, temple priests began the day with special rituals. These included the Mahanyasa Purvaka Ekadasha Rudrabhishekam and Panchopanishath Dwaraka Abhishekam, performed with chants of Vedic mantras.
Later, under the guidance of temple priest Appala Bhimashankara Sharma, the sacred wedding ceremony of Sri Sitarama (Kalyanam) was held. The ritual took place on a large stage, with Rachakonda Banu Kranti and his wife taking part as the ones who symbolically gave Sita in marriage.

Special areas were set up near the Kalyanam venue for the comfort of devotees. Donors helped distribute buttermilk and water packets to the large crowd. A food donation program (Annadanam) was also held in the parking area, where over 50,000 devotees participated.
At the Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple in Illandakunta, known as Apara Bhadradri, the Kalyanam was also celebrated as part of Sri Rama Navami. Thousands of devotees attended the event.
District Collector Pamela Satpathy took part in the ceremony and presented silk clothes and talambralu to the deity. Vedic scholars led the wedding rituals during the auspicious Abhijit Lagna time. Devotees were given talambralu by the temple staff.
The Jammikunta Rice Millers Association organized Annadanam (free meals) at this temple as well.
