In Andhra Pradesh, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Thursday. The event took place at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada, where Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu raised the national flag.
During his speech, Chief Minister Naidu promised to restore the reputation of Andhra Pradesh, which had suffered in the past five years. He mentioned that the state had regained its freedom and pledged to restore the people’s lost freedom. He emphasized that the new government would focus on welfare and development as its main goals.
Naidu also talked about reviewing all government departments with a 100-day plan to strengthen them after the previous administration’s impact. He recalled starting governance without a capital when Andhra Pradesh was newly formed and said that, with the people’s support, he had managed to get the government back on track. More than 120 welfare schemes were introduced to improve living standards, and the state was recognized for its ease of doing business. Agreements for investments worth Rs 16 lakh crore were made with various organizations, drawing significant attention.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also participated in the Independence Day celebrations at the Kakinada Parade Grounds. For the first time as Deputy CM, he hoisted the national flag and spoke about the sacrifices made by many martyrs to achieve freedom. He stressed that celebrating Independence Day should also involve remembering the responsibilities everyone has towards the nation.
Pawan Kalyan urged people to honor the sacrifices made by the martyrs and fulfill their duties to the country with sincerity. He credited the responsibility of these duties for his current position and paid tribute to several freedom fighters from the district.
