Siddipet is experiencing continuous rainfall due to a low-pressure system, leading to widespread flooding over the past four days. Low-lying areas are heavily flooded, streams and rivers are overflowing, and water bodies like lakes and check dams are at full capacity. The heavy water accumulation has inundated roads, causing significant traffic disruptions.
Siddipet, along with Cheriyal, Gajwel, Pragnyapur, Dubbak, Nangunuru, Chinnakodur, Mirudoddi, Maddur, Komuravelli, and Doulmitta mandals, have recorded intense rainfall. Komati Cheruvu is overflowing due to a heavy inflow of water. Similarly, the Kudavelli stream in Mirudoddi is rapidly rising.
Many roads are underwater, severely affecting daily commutes and causing major inconvenience for residents. The intense rain has disrupted normal life, flooding several colonies. Public transportation services have been halted, and water has even seeped into some apartment buildings.
The strong currents have caused Komati Cheruvu to overflow, impacting areas like Srinagar Colony, Haripriya Nagar, Srinivasa Sagar, and Seetharam Anjaneya Talkies. Vehicles and apartments have been flooded, creating difficult living conditions for residents.
On the Hyderabad highway, near the Bavis Khana bridge, water is flowing across, leading to flooding that has stopped vehicle movement. Schools have been closed following orders from the collector, and officials are closely watching the situation.
In several villages, transportation is completely halted. Near Akbarpet in the Dubbak constituency, NDRF teams rescued three farmers stranded across a stream. Both the new and old bus stands of Siddipet are submerged. Collector Hemavathi and Police Commissioner Anuradha visited the flood-affected areas in the town.
