Kadiyam Srihari is a notable political figure from Warangal, Andhra Pradesh. He began his career as a bank employee and a lecturer before joining politics. Rising through the ranks, he eventually became the deputy chief minister. This journey started after NTR founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which Srihari joined.
Srihari has been elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) four times and as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) twice. He also served briefly as a Lok Sabha Member. Coming from a modest background in Parvathagiri village, Warangal district, he has a strong connection with the Station Ghanpur Assembly constituency. He currently represents this constituency for the fourth time.
Despite having a known rivalry with former MLA Thatikonda Rajaiah over the Station Ghanpur seat, Srihari has maintained a reputation for being respectful both as a person and a politician.
Recently, at the age of 72, Srihari made headlines by switching his allegiance to the Congress party. His daughter Kavya also followed suit, winning as a Congress candidate after securing a BRS ticket for the Warangal Lok Sabha (SC Reserved).
Srihari emphasizes the importance of development in the Station Ghanpur constituency, which he feels has been neglected for over a decade. He stated that the welfare and progress of the people who have trusted him by electing him are his top priorities.
Throughout his career, Srihari has been elected to the Assembly in 1994, 1999, 2008, and 2023. He also served as a member of the Warangal Lok Sabha seat in 2014. Notably, he was one of the TDP leaders who convinced party chief Chandrababu Naidu to support a separate Telangana State by writing to the then Minister of External Affairs Pranab Mukherjee in 2008.
