    ABVP activists in Hyderabad protested at the Directorate of School Education against high fees charged by private schools. They demanded the government to bring in a school fee regulation act and punish schools breaking rules.

    The activists also called for strict action against schools selling books and uniforms on their premises illegally. Police detained the protesters during the demonstration.

    They also urged the government to investigate irregularities in mid-day meals at government schools and punish officials serving substandard food to students. ABVP suggested implementing 25% seat reservation for economically weaker students in private schools under the RTE Act.

    Jeevan, State joint secretary of ABVP, emphasized the importance of revoking recognition for private schools not following government norms.
