Former England cricketer and current commentator Kevin Pietersen has suggested that Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli should move to the Delhi Capitals team after the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) failed to qualify for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Kohli tried to lead RCB to victory against the Gujarat Titans on Sunday with a hard-fought century, but was overshadowed by Shubman Gill’s more prolific hundred, which saw Gujarat chase down 197 runs at the Chinnaswamy stadium.

Kohli will have to wait another year for an IPL trophy as RCB have now gone trophy-less for 15 consecutive seasons. Pietersen tweeted that it’s high time for Kohli to move to his home city and play for Delhi Capitals. However, the fans have mixed reactions to the tweet, with some saying that Kohli is RCB and RCB is Kohli, and that loyalty cannot be bought. Kohli remains the highest run-scorer in IPL history with 7263 runs in 237 matches, including seven centuries and fifty half-centuries.
