The Andhra Pradesh High Court suspended the verdict on Group 1 examinations conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) in 2018. The court stated that those who were recruited and working in various positions would continue in their jobs. The court postponed the hearing for a week. The single-judge bench had invalidated the examination after candidates claimed their answer scripts were evaluated twice.
The State Government challenged the single-judge bench’s decision, leading to the division bench’s suspension of the verdict. Previously, on March 13, the single-judge bench had scrapped the examination process and candidate selection for the Group 1 exams. The court instructed the State Government to conduct a new examination within six months and complete the selection process in that timeframe. Aspirants who took the Group 1 main examination in 2018 filed the petition that led to the court’s decision.
